DALLAS, TX (AsiaWorldMedia.com) – All eyes were on Kavi Vu and Antony Bui.

With all cameras clicking, Kavi Vu and Antony Bui performed a humorous spoken word poetry piece – mostly in English but with some Vietnamese – about their experience in VSA organization at the 11th Annual Union of North American Vietnamese Student Association (UNAVSA 11) opening ceremony on Thursday night, July 24.

“Together, Let’s Fly” is the theme to the UNAVSA 11 conference hosted in Dallas, TX at the Hilton Anatole.  The students organizer start the event by rushing in the ballroom with excite cheers and cowboy hats.  Over 350 Vietnamese American students from all over the country made their trip to attend the amazing 4 days conference of workshop, network and to be inspired by key note speakers.

Dallas local Allyn Hoang, host and producer for Tribune’s Eye Opener TV, and Tuan Duong were the Master of Ceremony throughout the night.  The keynote speaker was our very own Elizabeth Dinh from CBS 11 News.  Tarrant County Commissioner Andy Nguyen spoke briefly to the students and recognized the UNAVSA organization with a distinguish commemoration plaque.

Of course, we did not forget about the traditional lion dance which always excite the crowd greeted the student attendees.  Other entertainment throughout the opening ceremony included, CU Boulder (Traditional couple dance) and Thu Anh Nguyen a.ka. King Kimbit performs a solo guitar and singing act.
