Microsoft in Talks to Buy TikTok

After President Trump advocate to banned TikTok in the United States, Microsoft confirmed that it has held talks with the United States government and the Chinese technology company ByteDance to acquire its popular social app TikTok in the United States. Microsoft said it will work with the U.S. government on a deal that they hope to conclude by September 15, 2020.
Along the U.S., just recently, India banned TikTok and 59 Chinese mobile apps on the grounds of “national security”, after China and India’s military forces clashed at the border of Ladakh on June 15th this year, resulting in over 20 deaths and 75 injured.
TikTok is owned by China-based company ByteDance, which owns a portfolio of apps and services.
