Breaking Barriers – Forging Forward

Dallas, TX (AsiaWorldMedia.com) – ‘Breaking Barriers – Forging Forward’ is the theme of this year’s Awards Gala presented by the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce. The awards ceremony was held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at the Irving Convention Center. The 2014 award gala recognized individuals and companies in the categories of Small Business of the Year, Science and Medicine, Woman Entrepreneur and International Business.

Ajit Pai, the Federal Communications Commissioner, delivered the keynote speech about Asian American dedication to the American dreams and expansion of small businesses throughout the Asian community, like Dallas-own Anh Vo, owner of five Cindi’s N.Y. Delicatessen Restaurant and Bakery. Commissioner Pai is the son of immigrants from India and grew up in Parsons, Kansas. Ajit Pai now lives in Arlington, Virginia with his wife, Janine, son, Alexander, and daughter, Annabelle.

This year grand winners are Jason Liu of DFW Excellerator for Small Business of the Year, Dr. Anupkumar Shetty and Dr. Epifania Caturay for Science and Medicine, Linda Ngo of Davids Bails Bond for Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, International Business Arun Agarwal from Alok International, Chairman’s Award Amy Hofland from the Crow Collection Museum of Asian Art and Member of the Year Award Diem-Trang Dang Le from DFW iRealty.
