DFW AACC Celebrates Its 17th Annual Banquet

On a clear Saturday evening of September 9th, Dallas/Fort Worth Asian-American Citizens Council (DFW AACC) hosted the 17th Annual Banquet at the Renaissance Hotel in Richardson, TX. The event was well-received by many of North Texas leaders, politicians and guests.

This year’s banquet recognized Ms. Anne Chow (President of National Business at AT&T), Dr. Keh-Shew Lu (Was appointed President and CEO of Diodes Inc. and co-founder of DFW AACC) and Sylvia Komatsu (Chief Content Officer for KERA and KXT). Other honored recipients included, Katherine Dress, Joe Chow and Eunsup Kim for Ambassador Awards, Dr. Jarvis Jacobs and Kris H. Ikejiri for Friend of DFW AACC Awards, and Genai Walker-Macklin and Yue Gong for the New Member Awards.

A portion of the proceeds from the banquet will help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. “What happened in Houston impacts all of us,” said DFW AACC President David Kao. “As the tragic events unfolded we saw how people from different regions came to help those in need. Now, DFW AACC wants to do its part to help those who have lost their homes.”

DFW AACC is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Asian Americans take part in civic, business and political affairs. For over 17 years, DFW AACC has brought Asian American community leaders, elected federal, state and local government officials, and corporate executives and leaders together to network. The organization has created leadership programs and educational forums. The organization also holds candidate forums, voter education programs and registration drives.
