North Texas Celebrate Korean Culture 2016

Over 500 North Texas residents came out to Carrollton, TX to celebrate and enjoyed a full day of Korean culture, food, and entertainment on Saturday, November 12, 2016. The 2016 Annual Korean Festival of Dallas also featured well-known Korean artists, including G2 rapper (a.k.a Kevin Hwang) and the Nobrain group.

G2 is a rapper currently signed under Hi-Lite Records. Kevin Hwang mentioned he grew up in Texas during his performance at the 2016 Korean Festival of Dallas and afterward resided in Korea, making a name for himself in the underground music scene. According to him, he was contacted by Okasian after they saw a video of him and his raps. He was first recognized being in the Brainwash unit with Keith Ape.  He’s gotten momentum ever since being featured and working with numerous rappers and producers.

No Brain is a Korean punk rock band widely considered one of the godfathers of the Korean punk scene. Originally part of Korea’s homegrown underground punk movement, known as Chosun Punk, in recent years the group has enjoyed mainstream success both with their music and their emerging acting and hosting careers.
