28 Years Anniversary of the Internet

Do you remember where were you when the first internet web page was launched in December 1990?

Last month on March 12, 2017, the internet actually turns 28 years old, despite the August 23, 1991 date that many social media celebrates as Internaut Day. On March 12, 1989, a British computer scientist, Tim Berners-Lee, submitted his seminal proposal (“Information Management: A Proposal”) for a new information management system to his bosses at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva, Switzerland; Hence, the World Wide Web was born. This is the date that the World Wide Web Foundation (founding director: Tim Berners-Lee) celebrates as the birthday of the web. Tim could not have imagined the impact his actions would have on the world over the next two and a half decades.
