2013 AAIFPA Annual Convention in Dallas, Texas

The Asian American Insurance and Financial Professional Association (AAIFPA) Annual Convention kicked off on Saturday, October 19, 2013, in Dallas, Texas. One of the largest organization of its kind, organized by Haidi Huang and established in 2007, to serve the Asian American’s insurance and financial professionals nationally. Over 400 financial representatives and VIP guests, included Richardson’s Mayor Laura Maczka, Judge Ramey Ko from Austin and House of Representatives Angie Chen Button, attended the first AAIFPA conference at the Hyatt Regency in North Dallas. Financial companies, like ING, AIG, Transamerica, MetLife, and Prudential, were all presence at the 2013 AAIFPA Convention.

James A Mallon, President of AIG Global Consumer Insurance division, was the keynote speaker at the 2013 AAIFPA Conference. Mr. James Mallon announced that American International Group, Inc. (AIG), People’s Insurance Company (Group) of China (PICC) and PICC Life Insurance Company unlimited (PICC Life) have entered into a joint venture agreement to form an agency distribution company in China, an estimated $500 million investment from AIG. This joint venture will provide Chinese consumbers life insurance and other financial products to enhance and protect their overall quality of life. AIG and PICC Life plan to commence operations of the joint venture by the frist quarter of 2014, subject to regulatory approval.
