This November, Asia World Media joined hundreds of attendees for the 2018 Annual Korean Festival of Dallas, an event featuring 54 food court booths, bibimbap and kimchi presentations along with music and culture, K-Pop performances, Korean merchandise and “Everything Korean” which took place at — Carrollton Asian Plaza — on Saturday, November 10, 2018.
“There will be many lively K-pop performances that will heat up the autumn sky of Dallas. I can promise you that on this stage, we will demonstrate performances that are comparable to those of any cultural festivals in America. In addition, there will be additional programs promoting the beauty of Korea and its traditions, various events and activities that will be held continuously, splendid exhibitions of Korean culture and many foods that will stimulate your taste buds all together in our biggest festival yet – to promote the breadth of the Korean culture,” said President of the Korean Society of Dallas, Sukchan Yu.
The Korean Festival of Dallas is hosted by the Korean Society of Dallas, The Consular Office of the Republic of Korea in Dallas, The National Unification Advisory Council Dallas Chapter –together with the support of many individuals, volunteers, local businesses and organizations in the Korean community of Dallas and the surrounding Metroplex. Many public officials, including Carrollton Police and Fire Departments, Carrollton City Council members – Steve Babick, John Sutter, and Young Sung — attended the event.
The entertainment roster for 2018 included demonstrations of traditional Korean wedding ceremonies, Tae Kwon Do performances, “Talchum” – a traditional Korean masked dance, GWSN (Girls in the Park) K-pop girl group, Killagramz, hip-hop rap artists, and many more.
